Calming techniques like standing or seated meditation and of course Tai-Chi can help lead an individual into a more peaceful state of mind where they can make wiser decisions based on actual experiencs they have had. Usually learning of the way starts from Body learning. We begin to notice the differentiation between void and solid as we step out our Tai-Chi. We have experiences from feeling the touch of another, or playing a Tai-Chi form. These physical sensations become something known or supposed by the individuals Mind. So far , Physical as a solid foundation, the notion of calming Mind so that one can catch a glimpse of reality beyond all of these words. Finally the Spirit,the Tao, the Way that must be stepped out by each individual to have the Spiritual experiences that become Wisdom through repeated application . Body, Mind and Spirit. There are many different paths to the Summit. Our minds calm just like a muddied pond after a storm and clarity arises.This can be from the direct experience brought on by quieting our mind, turning off our paradigms and peering into the Universe and getting a personal glimpse leading to a more Spiritual response. Usually people who practice a lot of Tai-Chi and Meditation are calm and have a calming effect on those around them.Understanding ourselves and the universe around us can be accomplished through understanding that we are a microcosm of the great macrocosm.A part of the Universe, and not apart from it. the notion that we are all connected as one is truth and it must be experienced directly in order to comprehend. There arrives a place where words no longer serve a purpose.It is truly like Lamas Qi said in so few words,”Heaven is connected to Human when human is connected to self” Food for thought, and there are so many hungry minds…We must as Westerners understand that there is a need to express the theories and philosophies of Tai-Chi in a way that is easy for the Western mind to comprehend.
